Corsair Vengeance 1500 Review
Corsair is known for creating great high performance products and the Vengeance range of headsets are no exception
The fit and feel of the product is great from that first glance; sturdy in your hand and comfortable on your head to the point that you may even forget you’re wearing them. Which is great for those long gaming sessions out on the battlefield.
The good quality plastic and padded headband aid an already pleasurable experience with the large, soft fabric ear cups that hold more than enough padding. Running down the sides of the headset are two strips of brushed aluminium, which complement the already smart and sleek look Corsair has gone for.
The microphone follows the same great looks and functionality as the headset with the ability to retract the mic when it is out of use and bend it closer or further away from your mouth.
Specification wise the 1500s look great on paper with the headphones having:
Frequency Response: 20Hz to 20kHz
Impedance: 32 Ohms @ 1kHz
Dynamic Range: 95dB (A-weighted)
Cable Length: 3m
USB power consumption: 250mW
Connector: USB Type A
and the microphone:
Type: Unidirectional noise-cancelling condenser with adjustable, rotating boom
Impedance: 2.2k Ohms
Frequency Response: 100Hz to 10kHz
Sensitivity: -44dB (+/-3dB)
The in-line controller handles the volume and microphone mute, with two big round buttons surrounded by a circular light which glows blue when the microphone is active. It pulses between blue and red when it is muted.
Overall the sound quality of the headset is great when accompanied with the Corsair software, giving you the ability to change from 2.0, 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound modes, putting you into the heart of the battle when it matters. It also comes with a few different presets for a variety of game types.
Listening to music and watching movies is just as enjoyable as playing games, with that brilliant 7.1 Dolby sound making you feel like your part of the film and the incredible bass making this a great choice for whatever your needs!
So whether you are hunting lions for fur scraps in World of Warcraft, watching Batman in The Dark Knight or taking objective Charlie in Battlefield 3 you’ll never miss a trick with the Corsair Vengeance 1500.
