With Sony already having one of the best consumer noise cancelling headphones on the market with the WH-1000XM2 range, it makes complete sense that the electronics giant would release the new Sony WH-1000MX3 model this year at IFA 2018. Being part of the same family means that all the tech goodness that came from the previous model make an appearance here, and is also improved.

So the Sony WH-1000MX3 headphones feature full Noise Cancellation technology which now usess a newly-developed processor called the QN1. What this promises to bring to the table is four times the ANC performance over the MX2 model last year. This means that not only will they continue to almost shut out all noise from airplane, train or car rumbles, but also cut out high-range noises which are typically heard on streets and even human voices.

This paired with the inclusion of a new headphone amplifier means that users can get fully immersed in their music whatever the location or situation.

Secondly, Sony has also revealed a new in-ear sports headphone, the WF-SP900 which features dust and water proofing, as well as an internal memory, enabling users to playback music without actually connecting to a device at all. This would be perfect for people like swimmers, who don’t own waterproof phones, or don’t want to risk taking their phone into the pool or sea with them.
