With the launch of the Samsung S5 a week away, the Samsung S5 Mini will not be far behind. From what we know so far, the S5 Mini has quite an impressive list of specs. If the 5 inch phones of today are a little too big for your dainty fingers, and the smaller comparable phones such as Sony’s Xperia Z1 compact don’t quite come into your budget, then look no further. The S5 will surely fit the bill.
We can be quite sure that it’ll have the same plastic build of the S5 along with the embossed grippy back.
We’d like to see some of the apps remain too, such as the heart rate sensor, but unfortunately we’re not counting on it.
Battery is important for the “mini” versions so we’re certain a swap out battery will be available.
We’re expecting a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution according to SamMobile. This will put the phone on par with the Xperia Z1 Compact.
It is said that the phone will include a Snapdragon processor which will definitely help with power. Our fingers are crossed for a 600 or 800 chipset to follow in the footsteps of the successful S4.
SamMobile have also revealed that there will be 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB storage and a 2100mAh battery. Storage is a little stingy but I would guess this could be upgraded with a microSD card.
Rear camera is expected to be an 8MP shot while the front “selfie” camera, as we like to call it, gives 2MP snaps.
There are rumours floating around the net that we will see this gem of a phone arrive with us around June time, with a price tag of around the £300 mark.
