Virgin Media have reached the half-way mark of their expansion project bringing lightening quick internet speeds to 100,000 more homes in East London. To recognise their achievement the broadband provider have recruited celebrity artist Ash Kumar to decorate their vans with incredible henna designs.

The artist has been recognised twice by Guinness as the world’s fastest henna artist.

The first Van was unveiled at a Bollywood-inspired party where local residents attending the bash helped with the designs of the second van.

Ash Kumar, said: “Henna has never been used like this before so when Virgin Media asked me if I could create a bespoke henna design for Talay’s van I was really excited about getting involved.

“We wanted to give back to the community, involve them in the project and create something that will last. I really enjoyed working with local residents to develop another design for a second van. It was a privilege to share my passion for henna and see people get excited about what we are doing to help connect more people to the incredible, creative online world.”

TiVo, Virgin’s broadcast service that offers around 220 channels will also be available in the East End for the very first time.

Businesses will also benefit from the project with expected speeds of up to 152MB, faster than the national average.

The service provider have recently announced another large investment, another £3 billion to connect another four million households and companies to its network.
