Don’t worry. There are no spoilers ahead and all screenshots are of already released content.

It’s not unusual for games to get leaked online so close to a release. Usually they’re small and they cause some excitement amongst the gaming community. But this time, things have seemingly gone a little too far.

A major plot point in The Last Of Us Part II has been spoiled. And because I’m nice, I’m not going to spoil it here. Nor am I going to link to any evidence of this, because I don’t want you blaming me for spreading the leak. Plus the original post has been taken down from Reddit already. But of course, there are copycats out there that have posted again. Don’t go looking for it if you’re looking forward to the release.

The post was of what looked like a developer build of the game, and showed off some major cutscenes which appear at the beginning and end of the narrative.

Rumours have began to speculate online how the culprit could be linked to Naught Dog or Sony, but no official source has confirmed, and of course Sony and Naughty Dog have been pretty radio silent about the whole ideal. However, Sony also announced today that The Last of Us Part II will be coming June 19th 2020.

From Sony’s official blog; “As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on June 19. And Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17.”

This is a huge surprise as the last thing they announced was TLOU2 was delayed indefinitely due to COVID-19 issues so everyone could play it around the same time. They also announced Ghosts of Tsushima which is now being released July 17th 2020.
