We first mentioned that TCL were releasing an array of new products, including TVs, when we were reporting from the TCL press conference from CES 2020. Now, it appears were not just yet ready for the 8K, all singing, all dancing screens but they have just announced that two 4K models are coming to the UK. This is a very positive thing, TCL are huge in the states and many other countires, apart from the UK. Why? Perhaps competition is high or there are liecensing issues, who knows but this news is very promosing for the future. They are releasing the EC78 and EP65 series.

The EC78 Series combines Frameless Ultra Slim Metal Design, 4K HDR PRO Picture quality with Wide Colour Gamut, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and the most advanced Smart TV system ever: Android TV with Google Assistant built-in. This model also includes sound by Onkyo, delivering incredibly immersive sound for your movies, music, and video games. The EC78 Series is available in 55 and 65-inch models. The RRP of the 55-inch model is £549 and the 65-inch model is £749.

The EP65 Series features an elegant and slim design, 4K HDR picture quality, and the most advanced Smart TV system ever: Android TV with Google Assistant built-in. It offers image quality of over 8 million pixels, thanks to 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution, as well as SMART HDR, for upgrading Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content to HDR-like picture quality. Whether used for watching films, TV programs, online videos or concerts, Dolby Audio’s dynamic, high-quality surround sound will ensure that consumers get the most out of their content. It is available in 43, 50, 55 & 65-inch models. The RRP for the 43-inch model is £329, the 50-inch model is £379, the 55-inch model is £479, and the 65-inch model is £599

Both series will include Android 9.0, which includes Google Home and Google Assistant built in. Consumers can find the latest blockbuster, check the score of the big game, or dim the lights — all without leaving what they’re watching. Android TV also makes it possible to cast UHD content directly on TV and enjoy native 4K HDR applications on the big screen. Innovative features, such as Picture in Picture (PIP), easy task switching, multi-user accounts and side settings, ensure the favorite content of all family members is always front and centre. With EP65 and EC78 Series, consumers can also enjoy the “works with Alexa” experience and watch their favourite content on Netflix and YouTube in 4K HDR.

These TVs will be available very soon, as early as next month and can be purchased direct fro TCL, Amazon and AO.com. From what we saw at CES, TCL know how to produce a quality TV and I’d like to think they will deliver something very good to impress us here in the UK.
