Somfy is a manufacturer of home CCTV solutions, offering a range of cameras, key fobs, alarm boxes and door and window sensors. They recently took over from a brand that some of you may know, and one that we reviewed a while ago now, Myfox.
I was asked to come along to meet the guys at Somfy, and check out their new addition to the range, the Somfy One. The One is an all in one security solution for your home. It combines a camera, a sensor to pick up movement, and even a built-in alarm system that rings when it notices somebody in the house that’s not welcome.
It films in full HD 1080p giving excellent clarity to your recorded footage. There is even a way of storing your videos for later, just incase you want to watch back over the last 24 hours. The subscription service starts at £4.99 a month, which isn’t that bad at all compared to some other brands we’ve seen here at TechNuovo.
There’s a shutter that can be closed across the lens so you can keep your privacy. This happens automatically when you return home and use your app to deactivate the alarm from going off. It’s a nice feature that means that the only time you are recording video is when there is no one in the home. This setting can be turned on and off, depending on who is in the home.
Everything is controlled from the Somfy app. Setting up the device is a simple process and can be done in a matter of clicks. Depending on your internet speed in your home depends on what kind of quality that the camera can record at.
We’re going to be following this up with a full review, so make sure you check back here to find out more on the Somfy One and how it works. You could also check out the Myfox review to get some idea on what’s to come from the new security solution brand. Alternatively, make sure to check out the Somfy website for more information.
