Looks like MSI are chasing after the Youtubers and TikTokers with their new Content Creation Desktop PCs. The PC manufacturer are releasing two new models; the P100X and the P100A, along with some new monitors; the PPS321QR and PS321RV. Here’s what you can expect.
So, let’s start with the desktops. The Creator P100X can support up to an Intel i9 processor on a Z490 motherboard with up to 64GB RAM memory. It promises an MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super graphics card as well as 2x M.2 SSD and 2x 2.5″ SSD/HDD. Of course with anything like this, once the PCs have been released, there will be a custom configurator for you to sink your teeth into. Other features include a wireless LAN card for your WiFi, 7.1 channel audio as well as a whole host of USB inputs on the back including a Thunderbolt 3 input. The case is absolutely tiny so will definitely rely on fan cooling.
But speaking of the case, it looks incredibly sleek. Their website right now is demonstrating a white varient, which stands upright on a small base and sports a gold MSI logo on front. The base itself is silver, and a thin accent line follows the chassis rounded shape from top to bottom. It looks very sleek, and would definitely look the part on a content creator’s desk, and maybe something that would appear in the background of videos, if you’re filming a vlog at your desk. There is also a gun metal type colour available too, which shows off some very smart teal LED lighting. Whether this can change to suit your desk is to be seen, although you do get a host of MSI software, including the Creator Centre, so this could be the case.
The MSI P100 is claiming data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps thanks to the Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port and 10GbE LAN speed, but it does say that you need to use a Thunderbolt to 10GbE Switch and Router to gain this type of speed. Further down their web page, they claim if you’re working off a NAS Drive, you can expect a low-latency 2.5GB Ethernet LAN port to support data transfer.
Their new monitors in this brand new line-up are also impressive. The Creator PS321 uses IPS technology which supports 165Hz refresh rates at QHD or 60Hz refresh rates at 4K. It’s a 32-inch beast which definitely suits 4K viewing, and again, looks very smart. The screen can support 99% Adobe RGB colour and a Delta-E ≤ 2 which is remarkable for content creators out there doing colour work. And furthermore, the monitor will support HDR 600 with its peak brightness of 600 candelas(cd/m2).
We will endevor to get our hands on one so we can truly test it out and run some benchmarks, but it’s safe to say that on paper, this PC is an absolute powerhouse. And whatmore, will also be decent for a spot of gaming too! For more information head over to the MSI website.
