Lexar Jumpdrive P10 Memory Stick Review

The Lexar Jumdrive P10 is one of the first USB 3.0 memory sticks to be released by the computer manufacturer. The P10 comes in different memory sizes up to 128gb, enough to store up to 56,000 photos, 18,000 songs and a huge an unlimited amount of documents.

Build quality is a huge factor with memory sticks. They need to be solid to withstand long journeys banging around in your laptop case or pocket. The Lexar Jumpdrive P10 is made out of metal alloy. It’s extremely strong and has a nice weighty feel to it. The sliding mechanism that releases the USB connection is solid and doesn’t feel like it would break in your hand through over use.

It connects to your computer using USB 3.0 technology so the transfer speeds are up to 10x faster than USB 2.0. It writes at 260mb/s and writes at 180mb/s. Extremely quick in the world of storage accessories. Unfortunately you will need a USB 3.0 port on your laptop or desktop but that’s not too much of an issue on newer computers. It is compatible with USB 2.0 as well but you will not get the faster transfer speeds.

It can also be used as a storage unit to use with consoles and televisions as long as it’s formatted to FAT32 so you can use the stick to play your videos, music and photos.
