So this is a strange one that came across my email inbox this morning. A press release, letting us know that the Nomad Barber is offering free Spartan-inspired haircuts. The barbers is located at Shoreditch’s Boxpark Green in East London. But why are they offering these Greek style haircuts you ask? Because Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is coming out soon of course and what better way to kick off your first moments in game in total character?

So Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is out now for Early Access customers who bought the more expensive packages, but for us peasasnts who are buying the standard pack, you’re looking at the 5th October. Not far off so don’t worry too much.

The barber himself, Miguel Gutierrez has travelled the world, cutting hair in various cultures to really hone his craft. Some may say he is a true Spartan, hence the name Nomad Barber. The haircut on offer is called the Spartan Fade, which is essentially a very short cut at the sides, and an extra bit of length on top. However, there are four styles on offer, so you do get some kind of decision in what you’re going to be rocking up top.

As well as getting a free Spartan haircut, you can also play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on their console that they have set up, in full 4K too I’d like to add. The haircuts will be done on a first come first serve basis and are available from 10am – 7pm on Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an ambitious action role-playing game that places choice at the centre of the experience. Players will customise weapons and gear, master and equip new special abilities, and charge into massive battles between Sparta and Athens, pitting hundreds of soldiers against each other. With the entire country of Greece to discover, from pristine beaches to vibrant cities, from the heights of snowy mountain peaks to the depths of the Aegean Sea, players will encounter Ancient Greece’s famous figures and myths as they live their own odyssey.

Of course we’ve already got our hands on a copy, so expect to see a review very soon at TechNuovo. But for now, I’m just going to practice my Leonidas kicks.
