It was Dell’s turn to take the floor today, and with a whole host of new products, from 2-in-1 laptops to new Dolby Cinema technology and their new Dell Mobile Connect, for better integration between Android smart phones and laptops.

“CES is the first show of the year, and with January often marked by ambitious resolutions, Dell comes to CES with new products that empower people to fulfil their highest potential,” said Sam Burd, president, Client Solutions Group, Dell. “We’re driving innovation and delivering devices and experiences to make work and play more fluid and enjoyable.”

But the most exciting to us anyway, because we’ve grown to love them is the new Dell XPS 13-inch 2-in-1 offering. Following in the footsteps of their last award-winning 13″ XPS 13, the new model offers new and improved video performance in their webcam as well as a frost coloured option. The new model is a CES 2019 Innovation Honouree.

The new model is only 2.25mm thick and features its InfinityEdge technology display. The webcam has been moved to the top of the screen for better video experience. The laptop also supports Dolby Vision which offers much better brightness levels and contrast which in turn produces better colour reproduction. Highlights are measured about 40 times brighter while blacks are 10 times darker.

Although we’re not actually at CES 2019 to find out the specifics on spec, the press release we received told us that it has the latest quad-core 8th Gen Intel ® Core™ processor inside. Dell usually offer some kind of customisation features with their laptops once released, so we’re expecting there to be a number of choices once the laptop hits retail.

The XPS 13 offers an even brighter arctic white woven glass fibre interior and a new Frost anodised exterior colour option, adding to its stunning Rose Gold and White, and Black and Silver versions.
