As you may have seen from some of our other post this weekend, we had the chance to visit MCM London Comic Con. On our list of things we wanted to see was nDreams and Paw Print Games’ new title Bloody Zombies stationed on the Zotac booth.

Before we jump into the game there was something else special about the setup. Not only was this the first time the community has been able to get a hands on Bloody Zombies, it was also being run on Zotec’s super compact mean machine the MAGNUS EN1080. It’s a super quiet mini gaming PC housing a Intel i7 processor, an nVidia GTX1080 and a liquid cooling system. All this tech in such a little package ensures you’ll have high frame rates and low temps even during the most demanding games.

Now we’ve seen the hardware, let’s take a look at the game.

We’re back in that same old zombie tale. London has been over run by zombies, hell bent on eating your brains and humanity’s only option is you and a couple of unlikely heroes. The city of choice here is the UK’s capital, but there is nothing old about this tale. You play as either Teller, Rei, Eddie or Mick ‘The Brick’ – if any of you have played the first Borderlands, he shares a slight resemblance to Brick, which of course made him Stef’s character of choice. Although we didn’t manage to get a look at them in the demo, each character has skills which can be customised to your liking You’ll also need to keep that brain working as tactics will play a huge part too.

The game was designed with cooperative play in mind. You can play with up to three other friends locally or online. One of the most exciting features of the game is its VR support. The benefits of donning that headset are brilliant. You get a greater field of view, you can look left, right, up and down throughout the level and it gives you the ability to find hidden treasure boxes and tucked away paths. The only catch is you can only have one per game although you are prompted to change who has the headset throughout the game so that each player can get the most out their character.

The combat system is easy to get the hang of if you are new to the genre, but also provides a challenge through an ever increasing difficulty setting as you progress further and further into the game. This means… More Zombies… More Bosses… More Weapons and More Puzzles!

Due for a release later this year, Bloody Zombies will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One with support for all the major VR headsets including the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, PSVR and OSVR.
