Sony have just finished their press conference at this year’s IFA 2015. The conference started with a superb stop motion animation introducing you to the range of products that Sony actually cover including their cameras, exclusive Walkmans and also their superb sounding headphones. What do Sony have in store for us this year?

Kazuo Hirai, CEO of Sony has been in the business for four years now. He recently started reconstruction of their electronics business which is making headway for newer, more entertaining products. Hirai comments; “Sony are back on the path to future growth.

  1. Sony X93 series television – Sony introduced their award-winning 4.93 inch television. It houses their unique X1 4K processor boosting colour accuracy and contract of the image.
  2. HDR Imagery brings out more colours in an image, giving different shades. They’re bringing HDR content to their customers through the likes of Amazon Prime and other streaming services in the future. Hirai says that HDR brings 10x more colour to your image, and dimming the backlight to certain areas of the TV> They call it the X-Tended Dynamic Range Pro.
  3. sony A7-R ii Mirrorless Camera. The new Sony mirrorless range of cameras boasts much clearer images as well as a range of accessories available.
  4. Sony Z5 Premium – the world’s first smart phone with a 4K screen was announced today. The new Sony flagship has a 5.5″ 4K UHD display. This has never been seen before in a mobile phone. Sony has also reported the new Z5 will also have a two-day battery life. There is a 23 megapixel camera on the back of the device.
  5. Last but not least, the Project Morpheus, Sony’s answer to the Occulus Rift. They showed us some new developments and the way the headset interacts with PS4 gamers. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing this at this year’s IFA 2015.
