Nintendo could be revealing some new hardware at this year’s E3 event. They haven’t had the best time with their Wii U console.
Nintendo have stated that they will not be attending the biggest games conference of the year, instead they will be delivering their announcements via streamed video from an event of their own.
Last year Nintendo was involved in a similar scenario and opted out of a large press event at E3 and took part in smaller events for the media and distributors.
Rumour has it that Nintendo could be showing off a new accessory. Some have even rumoured a wearable device. I haven’t seen anything about a new console.
The Wii U was beaten in sales by the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Mario Kart 8 is on its way which could see a rise in the company’s appeal, but there will still be underlying pressure from Sony and Microsoft. With the quality of mobile phone games also increasing Nintendo have got their work cut out for them.

There have been rumours that a spokesperson from Nintendo has said “we definitely aren’t announcing hardware at this year’s E3.”
Original comments were made from an IGN podcast which sparked debate on whether or not they would or wouldn’t release new hardware.
