Netatmo, the company behind the accurate weather station have just announced the release of their new face-recognition CCTV camera for the home.
The CCTV camera that goes by the name of ‘Welcome’ is the first smart home security camera.
All you need is the camera and a smart phone and you’re ready to go. The camera sends the names of the people it recognises straight to your smart phone using its state-of-the-art facial recognition technology.
If the camera detects an unknown face, it will also let you know via an alert on your smart phone. I’m assuming you can put the name of the person in once the camera has detected them saving you from alerts of unknown people in your house all the time.
It broadcasts in full HD giving you a 130 degree viewing angle. It is even packed with night vision.
The HD security camera has already won four awards as part of the 2015 CES Innovations Awards in the Smart Home, Home Appliances, Digital Imaging and Tech for a Better World categories.
