E3 is known for its new game announcements, and most people who tune in are generally watching for the latest titles to come out of one of the major publishers. However, behind the scenes, there’s a whole array of products that are being showcased, like the new LG IPS gaming monitor.

That’s right, although it’s not a game, it’s something that’s needed to play games. The new LG IPS monitor, aptly named the LG UltraGearTM Nano IPS G-SYNC gaming monitor is the world’s first 1 millisecond IPS display which is phenomenal! The eSports industry is going to be facing a huge change real soon!

Being an IPS display also means users are treated to extremely vivid colours and wide viewing angles. Not to mention this particular monitor has a refresh rate of 144Hz. This is definitely looking to be one of the better gaming monitors on the market. TN panels have really got to watch their back now. They’ve been a great gaming monitor technology for some time now, but will the benefits of IPS gaming be enough to knock them out of the race?

There are two new monitors to choose from, a 38″ 38GL950G and the 27″ 27GL850. The larger model has a resolution of 3840 x 1600 which means it’s an ultra wide display while the smaller 27″ monitor has a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Both displays claim to cover 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and also retain LG’s flicker free tech. The monitors also have LG’s RGB lights on the rear which can reduce any kind of glare you may get from playing in dimly lit rooms.

The 27GL850 is G-Sync compatible and supports HDR 10 while the larger 38GL950G has the same, but can be overclocked up to 175Hz and supports VESA DisplayHDR™ 400

Pre-orders will be commencing in the United States on July 1st 2019, with European markets following behind in the third quarter. I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these that’s for sure! For more information, head over to the LG website.
