Disney fans, your prayers have been answered because Disney has just announced the price of their new streaming service, and it’s cheaper than the current top streaming service spot Netflix!

For Disney+, fans can expect to pay $7 a month, or $70 on an annual subscription service. This is a serious undercut to pretty much all other services on the market right now, which is putting Disney in a really strong position.

Bob Iger said in an earnings call; “I can say that our plan on the Disney side is to price this substantially below where Netflix is. That is in part reflective of the fact that it will have substantially less volume. It’ll have a lot of high quality because of the brands and the franchises that will be on it that we’ve talked about. But it’ll simply launch with less volume, and the price will reflect that.”

But what are you going to be getting with your new Disney+ subscription service? Well, quite a lot actually. Well the most anticipated program is surely the Mandalorian series from the Star Wars universe right? But you’ve also got some Marvel shows coming like Scarlet Witch and Loki.

An interesting offering, and one that’s literally going to kill off another service Disney offers, called the Vault. Disney are putting their entire catalogue of classic movies onto their streaming service too. This means you’ll get access to things like Dumbo, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Robin Hood (the cartoon fox one) and Aladdin. Amazing right?

There’s also the news that Marvel and Star Wars films will make an appearance, and they’re even being pulled from Netflix, making them a Disney+ exclusive. Makes sense I suppose. There’s even news of the entire Simpsons back-catalogue being housed on Disney+ which is big news. But there’s no surprise there really seeing as 20th Century Fox owns the rights to the Simpsons, who are ultimately owned by Disney now anyway.
