AOC have seriously impressed us with their budget gaming monitor lineup in the past, and most notably, the G1 series which we took a look at not too long ago. Now, AOC have announced a successor to that wonderful monitor, the AOC G2 Gaming Monitor.
There are several models available consisting of a 27″ under two SKUs: the 27G2U and 27G2U5 and smaller 24″ models too. The standard G2U SKU can expect a 144Hz refresh rate while the G2U5 can expect come come with a 75Hz refresh rate. Of course, these will be reflected in the price.
All models coming out will feature AMD Freesync and boast a 1ms MPRT response time to ensure as fluid a gaming session as possible. What’s more, the panels have been built around IPS technology, so you know you can expect some decent colour accuracy and nice wide viewing angles.
In terms of colour accuracy, we’ve been told the new G2 monitors can hit up to 120% and 126% of the sRGB colour gamut respectively. These are definitely new monitors you should be looking out for!
The monitors got their European premiere at Gamescom the 27G2U will be debuting over here in September and then 75Hz 27G2U5 will be coming in October 2019. Prices start from 179.99 Euros right through to 269.00 Euros for the larger flagship model.
