So yesterday we were fortunate enough to visit The Water Tower, the custom built home featured on UK property show Grand Designs to check out some of the new offerings from Kärcher.

Now as you all are probably aware already, Kärcher are known for their range of pressure hoses for outdoor use, and generally to clean the car with. But now, Kärcher are coming inside the home.

Kärcher FC5 Hardwood Floor Cleaner

The first item we checked out was their brand new hardwood floor cleaner, the FC5. The cleaner was pretty light with a rotating body enabling the user to easily turn the product. It’s specifically designed for hardwood floors, so no carpets here. It uses vacuum technology to spray and suck the water through the front rotating pads, making sure your floor stays as dry as possible during a wash. The front tank holds clean water, and when mixed with their detergents, gives off a pleasant smell, making your home smell fresh. The smart rollers at the front enable the cleaner to rid your home from dust, pet hair and small form debris. The rollers are removable and washing machine ready, so you don’t have to keep replacing them.

Kärcher KB5 Cordless Sweeper

This is an interesting revival of old technology. As they told us at the event, you may remember your grandmas using these to sweep up unwanted dust from their kitchens. I know, sexist times back then. But still, this is a reinvention of old technology which can actually provide very useful. The KB5 os cordless, making the machine nice and light, and with an automatic on and off function, there is no need to bend down to mess around with the head of the machine. It comes with a small amount of suction by using a turbine brush in the front and collects dust in a side compartment for easy cleaning.

Kärcher VC5 Premium Vacuum Cleaner

The new vacuum cleaner from Kärcher, the VC5, is an energy efficient, pretty light in design cleaner that enabled users to clean anything from their floors to the cobwebs in the corner of their ceilings. The vacuum cleaner requires to be plugged in to keep the 500w motor going, but the suction on the device is really great, even compared to some of the bigger brands like Dyson and Hoover. It is completely bagless with an easy to remove container for easy cleaning.

So there you go. A manufacturer who usually sticks to the pressure washer market, seamlessly transition into the home to bring some fantastic products. We will be hopefully bringing you some reviews soon, so keep an eye out on this space.
