This is the DLink DCP 651. It’s a 65watt GaN charger that you can use at home, or anywhere in the world, to charge your electronicl devices. For those of you unaware, a GaN charger is a type of power adapter that uses Gallium Nitride (GaN) instead of the more traditional silicon in its internal components. GaN is a superior semiconductor material that allows for the creation of more efficient, powerful, and compact chargers.

It’s white, lightweight, compact, has smooth edges and looks very discreet and sleek. It has three USB ports within it, 2x USB C and 1x USB A and can provide simultaneous charging. This is a 65watt charger so it can provide upto 65-watt PD 3.0 output, capable of fast charging your tablet, phone, anything similar that can be charged via USB or powered, such as your laptop.

Output is shared across all three outlets, so if you’re simultaneously charging, you will not achieve the 65watts to each device, but charging just one via USB-C, you’ll get that 65watts.

One of the best features, interchangeable plug adapters are provided in the box, which covers not only the UK, but the EU, AU and US as well, so you can take this away with you when travelling. It’s a matter of twisting the plug adapters out of the socket and changing them. It is very easy and in today’s world, a must-have.

Your devices are protected too! If there are any faults, such as overcurrent, overvoltage, overcharge, overheating or short circuit, the plug will automatically shut down to protect your devices.

For me, I generally use this by my bed, so I can charge my phone, watch and anything else that may need charging. This will also be ideal when I go abroad next time, as I can switch over to the EU adapter and continue to charge my devices.

Charge time is good on my devices, and it powers my laptop too via USB C. At around £25, I feel this is a worthwhile purchase, especially if you travel.
