Capcom has teamed up with gaming peripheral company Numskull to announce their new official Resident Evil 4D Candle. It’s a bid to clear up earlier inaccurate media reports from unauthorised press releases.
Using the 4D candle is the best way to play Resident Evil 7: Biohazard as it gives off a smell of the Baker House Mansion when lit. And when you’ve got your VR headset on, it gives just that extra added level of immersion you need to really get into Resident Evil.
The candle itself is made in the UK but will go on sale internationally. You will generally find it priced at around £10 on release, and it has a burning time of around 25 hours.
Ben Grant, of Numskull said: “Contrary to earlier reports that jumped the gun a little, the candle definitely does not smell of blood. However, it does manage to represent the scent of the Baker House Mansion, adding to the horror, fear and adrenaline you get whilst playing the game – especially in VR.”
“This Official 4D candle is specifically tailored to the game and will help make you feel like you’re actually standing in the abandoned plantation house, to enhance the gaming experience” added Stefano Barolo, of Capcom.
Numskull has a whole range of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard goodies on offer from wallets and key-chains to a heat reactive mug.
