LG has just announced the launch of their new LG 34UC89G 34″ ultra-wide gaming monitor. And what a beast it is. Spanning probably the width of most people’s gaming stations, LG’s new monitor is surely guaranteed to bring you some real intense immersion into your gaming experiences.
Following on with their curve trend, the new monitor houses some pretty intense nVidia G-Sync technology, an overclocked to 166Hz refresh rate to promise smooth motion while inside your favourite battlefields. The panel, which implements IPS technology covers up to 99% of the sRGB colour gamut meaning bright detail in all colour.
The LG 34UC89G has all bases covered, and has optimised their monitor to perform best when inside games, making it ideal for the gaming enthusiast. The monitor itself is housed in a matte black casing, and has a small form-factor stand so the surface area actually taken up on the desk is very narrow, albeit wide as hell.
Their Black Stablizer technology will provide a lot more detail in darker areas of a game, which is incredibly advantaegeous if you’re scared of said dark areas, like Outlast II. Yes, we’re still struggling with that one. Input lag has also been kept to a minimum, making tracking enemies a lot more easier during first person shooters. The Crosshair feature will give you a small dot in the centre of the screen, making it easier to pull of those 720 no scopes into a triple throwing knife kills.
Ik-hwan Jang, the Vice President and Head of the IT Business Division at the LG Home Entertainment Company said; “We are greatly pleased to announce our new UltraWideTM gaming monitor powered by NVIDIA G-SyncTM technology. With its excellent display and gaming-specific features, the monitor provides a gaming experience that surpasses the standards of even the most dedicated gamers. LG will continue innovating in order to take gaming to a whole new level and equip its monitors with the most advanced technologies on the market.”
We’re hoping to get our hands on one soon to give it a full review. We do have a 34UC79G-B on the way, which is the lesser of the two and one that’s been on the market for a short while now, so check that out before reading on to the enhancements the 34UC89G is bringing to the market.
