Again and again I’m out and about and I’m caught short, not able to use my phone because surprise surprise, my battery is dead. Well, Chargifi has you covered.

Chargifi as it says on their website “brings networked, wireless power to public venues like coffee shops, hotels, restaurants, sporting arenas, offices, transit hubs – anywhere you can think of.” And looking at their technology, I’m excited.

The new charging service seems to be primarily aimed at retail outlets and restaurants, although they are marketing it towards office-based businesses too.

It’s essentially wireless charging, where-by you as the customer for example, sits down at a table to drink your nice hot cup of coffee. You can place your mobile phone down onto the wireless charging pad and watch your phone fill up with juice. It’s as simple as that but such a wonderful idea.

Chargifi currently operates in nine international markets, from a head office based in the UK. It has a major presence in the USA which enables them to have some kind of foothold in some of the most progressive markets in the world.

The Chargifi service is currently installed in four Pret a Manger eateries, the Imperial College and the University of Greenwich, both in London as well as The Clubhouse. The service is completely free, so just pop in to the store and power your mobile phone.

The British tech startup have been busy at CES 2017 keeping the show flowing with power. Since there are millions of guys like me covering the show, I’m sure their product was a complete success.

We managed to catch up with CEO Dan Bladen to find out a bit more information on their Chargifi service.
