Vodafone have released their latest budget smartphones, the Smart 4 and Smart 4 Mini. They both come in at under £100 making this a bargain for the features you get.
First off the Smart 4 and Smart 4 Mini are made of plastic, but it feels great in the hands and really robust. The Vodafone Smart 4 has a 4.5-inch screen but doesn’t come with a HD resolution. The smart phone comes in at 854 x 480 but still provides a comfortable viewing when browsing the web or watching a video.
The Smart 4 Mini has a 800 x 480 resolution so it isn’t too far behind the Smart 4. The screen isn’t much smaller coming in at 4-inches compared to the 4.5-inches on the Smart 4.
The Vodafone Smart 4 has a great processor for its price tag. The dual-core processor is clocked at 1.2GHz and backed up with 512mb RAM. The Smart 4 Mini has a1.3GHz Mediatek CPU. They are definitely not the fastest processors on the current market, but for an entry-level mobile for you to try Android, or even a back -up phone, these devices will definitely fit the bill. They are shipped with Android 4.2.2 Kitkat as well.
The cameras on each phone are very clear and took a decent photo. See below for our example. The Vodafone Smart 4 camera has a 5-megapixel sensor for taking clear photos. The Mini only has a 3-megapixel sensor and lacks basic functions such as autofocus and a front facing camera for those important selfies.
The battery life on both phones is very good lasting for an entire day of medium to heavy usage.
For under £100 these phones are superb. They’re great for the average Android user, or for someone who is transferring to Android from another handset.
