With as a many as 23,145 verses in the Old Testament and 7,957 verses in the New Testament, who knew that it’s actually a really bad idea to use one of them as a password.

Turns out that using passwords like psalm27, genesis11 and john316 among the other verses of the bible are actually really easy for hackers to, well… hack into.

Because there is a set number of verses, all with similar names and a maximum amount of numbers, it’s easy for a hacker to compile this data into some kind of computer database to work through, testing these passwords against your account until they find a successful entry.

If you do want to stick to a biblical themed password, then it’ll still be best to use a mixture of capital letters, punctuation and numbers. To be honest with you, even if it’s not biblical themed it’s still best to instil the same techniques to creating a harder to hack password.

Although I still wouldn’t trust it. It’s always best to use some kind of firewall, encryption technique and even some antivirus software, for those times of emergency that your computer does get infected by a virus.

But saying all of this, after people read this information, I wonder how many of us will change our passwords to Thep4th0fther1ght3ousm4n now?
