We love Urbanista at camp TechNuovo, we have tried a few of their products now and each and every time, they have been brilliant. We’ve now been offered one of their latest products, the Urbanista Berlin Bluetooth Earphones, so step aside long, unwanted cables, while we check out these Bluetooth beauties!

The earphones come in typical Urbanista packaging, a black rigid cardboard box, with a door at the front, which once opened, previews the earphones. Behind the door, the earphones are protected with a clear plastic cover, so you can see what the earphones are like before you buy. Within the packaging is an instruction manual and a very small USB cable, to allow you to charge the earphones. Yes, as these are Bluetooth earphones, they do require charging.

The earphones offer a very simplistic, yet modern design to them. Everything has a matte black, rubbery finish to it. Each earphone is molded somewhat and resembles the typical earphone shape. Joining the two earphones together, is a cable about 50cm in length, with a remote control, located closer to the right earphone. This remote control has three buttons, + & – and a central Urbanista logo button. With these three buttons, you can turn the earphones on, change track, play/pause, increase/decrease volume and accept phone calls. There are tiny indicator lights to help you identify what the remote is doing as well. You also charge the earphones via the remote control, with the supplied micro USB cable. Note a power adapter is not included in the box. The earphones came fully charged and I haven’t had the need to charge them yet but there is the handy charge indicator on my phone so I can monitor its level.

Using these earphones is very easy. Simply hold down the logo button for five seconds and wait for the light to come on. Then go to your Bluetooth enabled device and pair the two. It couldn’t be easier and it took me about 30 seconds to go from off, to listening to a song via Spotify. The buttons are push to use and very responsive. Press the + button once to increase the volume, hold it for three seconds to change track. The little blue indicator light, lights up when an action has been completed. As previously mentioned above, you can monitor battery levels via your device.

The earphones are very comfortable on the ear and even though the remote control is closer to the right earbud and you can feel the added weight of the remote, it didn’t fall out of my ear or cause any irritation. These are leisure earphones, so I wouldn’t recommend them for using while exercising as they will most definitely fall out. Sound isolation is minimal with these but they can go very loud, so it shouldn’t be an issue. Sound quality is pretty good, there is a decent blend of highs and mids, and there is some bass but there could be more!

The Berlins are available for just £39.99 and considering these are Bluetooth and offer a decent sound quality, they are worth every penny. Sure, these cant compete with the best of the best but they’re not trying to. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to my favorite tracks on these, without the need for a cable to my phone and would recommend them to all.
