Tylt are generally known for their cases and charging accessories, so it makes complete sense for this manufacturer to combine the two and create a case that also charges your mobile phone. We were sent the Samsung S5 edition to test and were very impressed with the results.

First off I would like to say this case is huge. It adds a good inch or so to the actual phone. This could be taken two ways. Yes it protects your phone extremely well from bangs and drops but it will struggle to fit into your pocket, especially on tighter jeans.

The Tylt Energi comes in two parts, the inner case and outer battery. The inner case is solid, with a smooth feel to it. Once the phone is secured into the inner case all you need to do is slide the phone into the outer case. This enables the case battery’s micro USB to slot into the phone giving it a new lease of life.

The outer case houses a 2800mAh battery which can give the phone a good 50-60% increase in battery life. The battery case has a power button so you can turn it on and off when you need a quick charge.

The biggest downfall is its size. I’m not sure everyone would want to carry around a phone in such a large case. For you, a power bank set up may be your thing. But for people whose phones are generally kept in your bag a laptop case, then this could be a viable option for you.
