On February 24th 2013 Sandisk unveiled their latest ground breaker in the digital storage industry, the 128gb microSDXC memory card, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This is now the world’s largest capacity card.
“SanDisk’s high-performance 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC memory card will reshape the way users interact with their devices. Until now, consumers had to spread out their content between multiple products because the memory on those devices was not able to hold enough data in one place. This 128GB microSD card is going to be popular as the preferred removable storage option, giving users fast, secure and reliable access to their personal data archives” said Stuart Robinson, director, Handset Component Technologies, Strategy Analytics.
It has been designed with smart phone users in mind. Now that a large percentage of people carry smart phones with them, and with the built in cameras ever evolving, storage is becoming a bit of an issue. We’re currently seeing smart phone users switching out memory cards. Not ideal if you are on the move, or even an extended holiday. Having 128gb of memory enables users to store thousands of songs, photos and videos combined. Storage will no longer be a concern.
