As with most game rumours, they start with the fans and this one is no different. In the words of the legend Will Smith… welcome to the wikki wikki wild wild west.
It all started with a newspaper in Montana reporting about a film crew making a live action trailer for a video game set in the Wild West, to which most thought instinctively Red Dead Redemption 2. However, this may not be the case.
After a little bit of digging fans found out the producer worked at Ubisoft – who are known for their live action trailers, examples of which can be found from their four part series released just before Tom Clancy’s The Division, and the 30 minute short film released just before Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. As well as the producer, some of the crew were also French, and it would be released in September.
This can mean one of two games: either Far Cry or Assassin’s Creed, and my money is on the former. At the point of writing this, most other information is looking that the team behind Assassin’s Creed are focusing on an Ancient Egyptian setting.
If the rumour that Far Cry 5 will be set in the Wild West are true, it does ask the question; what are Ubisoft thinking, going up against the Wild West giant Red Dead Redemption with its eagerly anticipated sequel.

Update 10/4/2017 11:50
It looks even more likely that the live action trailer is for Far Cry as leaked images of Assassin’s Creed Origins show the ancient Egyptian setting we talk about earlier.
Above is a leaked image possibly from the new Assassin’s Creed game set in Acient Egypt. It’s hosted on image site Imgur.
